APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP

The 25 Panhandle Great Nurses Scholarship Committee invites scholarship applications from nursing students who are enrolled in an accredited undergraduate registered nursing program in the Texas Panhandle. These nursing programs include Amarillo College, Clarendon College, West Texas A&M University and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo. Graduate students living in one of the top 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle who are enrolled in an accredited Master’s Degree Program with a Major in Nursing or a Doctoral Degree Program with a Major in Nursing are also invited to apply. Award recipients must be enrolled in a nursing program for the Fall of 2020 and be in good academic standing with a grade point average of at least 3.0.

Award recipients will be recognized at the 25 Panhandle Great Nurses ceremony on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Great Hall at Polk Street Methodist Church in Amarillo, Texas.

$2,000.00 scholarships will be awarded in each of the following areas:

  1. Enrolled in an ADN program. (2 scholarships will be awarded in this group)
  2. Enrolled in a traditional (Generic) track BSN program. (2 scholarships will be awarded in this group)
  3. Enrolled in an RN to BSN program.
  4. Enrolled in a second-degree BSN program or Veteran to BSN program.
  5. Enrolled in a Master’s Degree Program with a Major in Nursing.
  6. Enrolled in a Doctoral Degree Program with a Major in Nursing.

The awarding of scholarships is a competitive process and will be evaluated by the Scholarship Committee based upon the established criteria. The Scholarship Application is on the Panhandle Great 25 website @ www.panhandlegreat25.com. Please follow the instructions for submission! Completed applications (including all components) must be submitted no later than May 1, 2020 BY 5:00 P.M. to be considered.

LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

PLEASE HAVE THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS READY TO UPLOAD BY THE TIME YOU APPLY. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SAVE YOUR PROGRESS

  • A letter from administration in the nursing program where you are currently enrolled stating that you are in good academic standing. Letter must be on College or University Letterhead with written signature.
  • A copy of your transcript or other college and/or university document which verifies a grade point average of at least 3.0.
  • A recommendation letter from one of your professors. Letter must be on College or University Letterhead with written signature.
  • A personal or professional recommendation letter. If professional, recommendation letter must be on letterhead with written signature
